The National Education Coalition successfully conducted a two‑day workshop on 3rd–4th December 2025 at Crown Hotel, Juba, under the theme “Enhancing Domestic Financing and Coordination for Sustainable Transformation of Education.”
The event brought together senior government leaders including the Hon. Minister of General Education and Instruction (MoGEI), the Hon. Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning (MoFP), Hon. Members of the Revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA), Hon. Undersecretaries, Directors, alongside representatives from the LEG Secretariat, NEC Board, and development partners such as FCDO, UNICEF, UNESCO, EU, ECW, and GESS.
In his keynote remarks, Hon. Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, National Minister of Education, emphasized that education in South Sudan continues to face numerous challenges, particularly limited funding which constrains the country’s ability to deliver on its national commitments and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. He stressed that addressing these shortcomings requires collective action and highlighted the importance of a framework agreed upon by all stakeholders under the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
Development partner UNICEF reaffirmed its commitment to support the development and implementation of Education frameworks, ensuring stronger collaboration for the sustainable transformation of education in South Sudan.
