Meet the NEC Secretariat

The NEC Secretariat help the organization by performing the following roles:

  •  Be responsible for the day to day running, operations and management of NEC.
  •  Prepare the work plans of NEC.
  •  Implement, coordinate and monitor the programmes and activities of NEC.
  •  Raise funds for and on behalf of NEC within the approved policies.
  •  Collaborate, network with, create and maintain close contacts with strategic allies, other appropriate networks, government offices, local governments, international networks and donors.
  •  Initiate policy dialogue on developmental issues relating to the objectives and activities of NEC.
  •  Carry out publications on relevant issues regarding NEC and for the benefit of the members.
  •  Prepare the budgets of NEC and implement the same upon approval by the executive council.
  •  Implement policies and strategies geared towards mobilizing members and sustaining the membership.
  •  Facilitate the activities of regional, district and zonal structures of NEC.
  • Settle or adjust claims by or against NEC not relating to policy and governance with the approval of the Executive Council.
  •  Perform any other functions as directed by the executive council or in accordance with the powers vested in it by this constitution.

Dut Kon Garang

Mr. Dut Kon Garang is a highly accomplished professional with over nine years of dedicated experience in the development and humanitarian sectors, specializing in Trauma Awareness and Resilience and Psychosocial Support. He is a Certified Master Trainer in the Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR) program from Eastern Mennonite University, USA.

Expertise and Key Experience
Mr. Garang’s career is marked by his ability to lead complex programs, develop essential tools, and deliver impactful training across diverse community levels. His core expertise includes:
Trauma Program Management: Managed and implemented large-scale trauma awareness and healing programs. This includes his role as a Master Trainer with the AECOM/VISTAS program in Jonglei State (2016–2019), where he oversaw daily operations and training for three years.
Curriculum Development: Contributed to the development of specialized trauma awareness tools, including the “Morning Star” programs designed for Peer Support Groups and Community Health Care Service Providers.
Behavior Change and Counseling: Applied expertise as a Behavior Change Officer (International Medical Corps) and provided exceptional psychosocial services, including face-to-face counseling, community participatory approaches, and patient referral for trauma cases.
Capacity Building: Trained a wide range of stakeholders, including peer support groups, women, youth, community leaders, and key community members.

Nigh Agnes John Wani

Night Agnes John Wani is a dedicated Gender specialized currently working with National Education Coalition as the Gender and Inclusion Officer, with a strong background in Gender and Development studies and five years of experience working on gender equality, women empowerment, and GBV prevention. Throughout her career, she actively engaged in program implementation, facilitation, advocacy, Peace Building, Conflict Resolution and capacity building initiative aimed at building gender responsive policies and inclusive development.

Dynamic Gender professional, with extensive experience in advocating for women’s Rights, leadership and empowerment in South Sudan. Proven expertise in designing and facilitating training sessions on team building, conflict resolution, and community engagement.

Highly motivated, strategic thinker, detailed oriented with good leadership skills, high professional interpersonal relationship management, a quick decision maker and problem-solving and reliable.

Sunday Susan

Sunday Suan is a dynamic South Sudanese holding a Diploma in Human Resource Management and degree in Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomatic studies, consistently rewarded for success in planning and operational improvements. Experience in Public Relations, training, policy development and staff management procedures positively impacting overall morale and productivity. Currently she works with National Educational Coalition as a HR assistant and a logistic officer.

Project Officer

Martin Lubajo

Lubajo Martin an Education and development professional, passionate in advocating for equal access to quality, inclusive education, especially for girls and Children with Disabilities (CWDs).
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Development Studies from Star International University (SIU); Diploma in Strengthening the Capacity Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Danida Fellowship Centre, Copenhagen, Denmark; Diploma in Education from Kyambogo University, Uganda; Certificate in Education from Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo (ITEK), Uganda.
He is currently Pursuing a master’s degree in project planning and management (MPPM), from Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU), (at dissertation level).
He previously worked as a Project manager with Support for peace and Education Development Program (SPEDP), Education Program Manager with Oxfam International, Program Literacy and Numeracy Specialist, Oxfam Denmark, Project manager for EU non-State actors Project with IBIS South Sudan, among other positions, held in the humanitarian sector in South Sudan.
